Hello Caboolture Tennis Association members and friends,
On behalf of Club members, the Caboolture Tennis Management Committee would like to sincerely thank Brett Madill for his leadership and commitment as Club President over the last eight years. During this time Brett was instrumental in ensuring the Club remained financially viable and in obtaining grants, including the recent grant for resurfacing court nine. We wish Brett all the best and while he is staying on as an active member, we may not see as much of him as we have in the past. Congratulations Brett, well done and thank you.
On a serious and unfortunate note, following the State Government’s decision on Tuesday 25/3/20 to close all sporting clubs to reduce the spread COVID-19, the Caboolture Tennis Club has now closed indefinitely. All activities at Caboolture Tennis, including coaching, fixtures, tournaments and casual games are now suspended until further notice. Update: Tennis fixtures are now open!
Although tennis activities have temporarily ceased, work undertaken by the Committee continues. At present we are working on obtaining another grant to install the Book a Court system (https://www.tennis.com.au/clubs/book-a-court) over the next few months. Book a Court is an online court booking and payment platform that connects with pin pad technology on the Club’s gate. It is easy to use for both players and club administrators, and will hopefully improve upon the current honesty system for court bookings and increase revenue to the Club.
Hopefully, the Centre’s closure won’t be for too long. In the meantime, try to keep fit and keep yourself and loved ones safe and well.
Regards,
Tony Courtney
Caboolture Tennis Association President (26/3/20)
